Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of an Toolmaker without more than normal supervision. (1)Fabricate many common types of components, tooling, gages, and jigs utilizing various types of machining equipment and processes; (2) Apply knowledge of machine shop procedures and techniques in planning, laying out, machining, assembling, and hand fitting and finishing work to precise dimensions; (3) Select the proper materials for items to be made and make dimensional allowances based on familiarity of effects of hardening, annealing, and stress relieving on metals and metal alloys; and (4) Read and interpret drawings and blueprints to perform setups, programming, and/or machining processes to complete assignments/projects. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official. Requires good vision to work to close tolerances. Required to lift/carry items weighing up to 44 lbs. Mechanical lifting devices/other employees are available to assist with lifts of 45 lbs. and over. WORKING CONDITIONS Works in well lighted, heated, and ventilated shop with concrete floors. Exposed to dust from grinding, oil from machines, dirt, heat, noise and fumes. Subject to hazards of burns from hot metal chips, machine & hand tools, skin irritations from contact with coolants, lubricants and abrasive compounds. Subject to strains from frequent moving, lifting and handling of heavy items. Wears safety glasses, shoes and other safety apparel and equipment as required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
