Maintenance Mechanic Leader

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of an Maintenance Mechanic Leader without more than normal supervision which includes (1) Lead and/or instruct others in the performance of maintenance mechanic functions/duties; (2) Maintenance of piping systems and equipment used in utility systems; (3) Maintenance and repair of Industrial equipment; and (4) Demonstrate proper work methods in Pipefitting and Industrial Equipment repair. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least 2 points on the screen-out element indicated above. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Lead or SuperviseAbility To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Knowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Effort:
The employee works from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms, and in hard-to-reach places and is required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee frequently lifts, carries, and sets up parts and equipment that weigh up to 44 pounds unassisted and over 44 pounds with assistance. Working Conditions:
Work is performed inside and outside, and is usually dirty, dusty, smoky and greasy. The employee is sometimes required to make repairs and installations outside in bad weather, on scaffolding or cranes at heights of 30 feet or more; and in close quarters. Is exposed to bad smelling fumes, and floor and deck surfaces are sometimes uneven, oily, and slippery. The employee is frequently exposed to noise, the possibility of strains, cuts, scrapes, bruises, burns, and infections and uncomfortable heat conditions; and occasionally exposed to the possibility of broken bones, injury from falling, electrical shock, or respiratory ailments. Employee is often required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hard hats, flash shield and other.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
